This week go on trip to Chile with TM! This thin strip of land which is 4300km² is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, Bolivia, Argentina, and Peru. Its name's origin is mysterious but has nothing to do with "chili con carne", a dish coming from Southern U.S. and is made with "hot peppers and meat" in Spanish. Firstly inhabited by Native Americans but also by Polynesians from Easter Island, Chile is in big part incorporated into the Inca Empire during the 15th century. In 1520, Magellan is the first European who lands on Chilean ground for the glory of the Portuguese kingdom. A few years later, the Spanish conquistadores colonize the country. Chile will become independent in 1818. Known as a country of poets, Chile is the place of birth of Gabriela Mistral and Pablo Neruda. Considered as a Tri-Continental country because of its territories in America, Oceania, and in Antarctic; Chile owns a landscape mainly constituted by lakes and mountains, with Cordillera de los Andes in the East of the country. This is a warning for trekking aficionados! Stock up empanadas and let's go for adventure by following the gauchos in the pampas with 7 new maps, including a VIP one, and the 7 new collections, including a premium one!
