HERO WARS - SUMMER FESTIVAL

The event that the summer festival originated from took place a long time ago. Wilheim, a small town near the Thick Forest, was inhabited by humble and hard-working people, living in simple houses. Our story is about one of them, the local harvester, Tome Kamano. He led a calm, peaceful life, much like everyone else. Together with his beloved wife, he was raising three kids and laboring in the field.
Located in a mild climate, the Thick Forest is known for its fertile soil, allowing its people to harvest crops three times a year. That’s why the head of the household cultivated the land, dawn till dusk and harvested its fruit. Once, he noticed Marinia, royal blue flowers, blossoming in a remote field. As beautiful as they were, it was widely known that those flowers caused wheat to wither. For the harvester, each field counted. He decided to get rid of the plant. Armed with garden tools, he set out on the remote field, his intentions clear. However, the sight of unusually beautiful bees swarming around the Marinia stopped him in his tracks. No one had seen such bees in the Thick Forest before. Tome felt he didn’t have it in him to harm the flowers and drive away the bees. He turned around and left to work on his other fields.
A few years passed. The field was completely overgrown with the flowers by then, becoming a home for swarms of those wonderful insects. The town’s life was as peaceful as ever... Until one night brought doom upon it. Sylfide, the witch who knew neither compassion nor mercy, came to wipe out all life. It so happened that her first target was Wilheim.
As Sylfide’s squads advanced, the Thick Forest was filled with roars and murmurs. The town was asleep. The crunch of broken branches and curses in subdued voices gave away the monsters approaching the settlement. A persistent sound could be heard in the house of Tome Kamano, as though someone was tossing thousands of tiny stones into the window glass. The man rolled over in his sleep. Meanwhile, the witch’s forces had already started entering the town. The sound in the harvester’s house grew louder. Reluctantly, Tome rose up and looked through the window, only to see a swarm of the wonderful bees buzzing against the glass in a frenzy. The man looked past them and realized everything at once: the city was under attack, and the grateful bees wanted to warn him.
The family escaped a moment before Sylfide’s servants broke into the house. Tome rushed to the town hall as fast as his legs could carry him. He climbed the bell tower and started ringing the bells. Soon, the entire town was awake. At that moment, the bell tower was literally enveloped by a cloud of bees. Barely having survived himself, the harvester helped save many a resident of Wilheim. The town was devastated, but the memory of the lucky rescue lives to this day. People started to build large apiaries and plant the Marinia to attract bees. Ever since, they celebrate life and Light on Earth at the Sun Festival!
Rumor has it that one can find something really special and take part in this unbelievable legend if they just take a stroll beside the Elder’s house! Then again, those are probably just silly tales!
